JEE Main 2027 Syllabus: Subject Wise Topics for Physics, Chemistry & Maths

The JEE Main 2027 syllabus is your starting point for everything. Before you pick a coaching, buy a book, or write a timetable, you need to know exactly what NTA will test you on in January and April 2027.

NTA has not released a separate JEE Main 2027 syllabus PDF yet. The official syllabus PDF will be released along with the information brochure, expected in October 2026. Until then, the JEE Main 2026 syllabus is the most accurate reference, as the 2027 syllabus is expected to be identical.

This page gives you the complete subject-wise topic list for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, the chapter-wise weightage breakdown, topics deleted from the syllabus after the 2023 revision, and the high-priority chapters you must master first.

JEE Main 2027 Syllabus: Physics

Physics prioritisation: Mechanics plus Electrodynamics plus Optics plus Modern Physics accounts for approximately 75% of the paper. Master these four units first.

Physics is divided into Class 11 and Class 12 topics. Both carry nearly equal weightage overall, but Electrostatics, Current Electricity, and Modern Physics from Class 12 are consistently the highest-scoring areas in recent JEE Main papers.

JEE Main 2027 Syllabus: Chemistry

Chemistry is split into Physical Chemistry at 35%, Organic Chemistry at 30%, and Inorganic Chemistry at 35%. Each section requires a completely different preparation approach.

Chemistry is the most balanced subject in JEE Main. Students who master NCERT for Inorganic and Physical, and build mechanism understanding for Organic, consistently score the highest in this section.

Physical Chemistry Topics

ChapterClass
Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry (Mole Concept)11
States of Matter (Gases, Liquids)11
Atomic Structure11

Chemistry Chapter Weightage (Expected)

SectionExpected Weightage
Physical Chemistry30 to 35%
Inorganic Chemistry30 to 35%
Organic Chemistry30 to 35%

Chemistry is the most evenly distributed subject in JEE Main. Skipping any section will hurt your score disproportionately. Inorganic Chemistry in JEE Main includes classification of elements, periodicity, coordination compounds, p block, d and f block elements, and metallurgy at a basic conceptual level.

JEE Main 2027 Syllabus: Mathematics

Mathematics prioritisation: Calculus at 35% plus Algebra at 20% plus Coordinate Geometry at 15% equals 70% of the paper. Master these three areas first.

Mathematics is the most time-consuming section and the one where ranks are most sharply separated. Questions are lengthy, calculation-intensive, and demand both conceptual clarity and speed.

Mathematics: Class 11 Topics

UnitChapters
Sets, Relations and FunctionsSets, Relations, Types of Functions, Composition
TrigonometryTrigonometric Ratios, Identities, Equations, Inverse Trigonometric Functions
Algebra (Class 11)Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Sequences and Series, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Mathematical Induction
Coordinate Geometry (Class 11)Straight Lines, Circles, Parabola, Ellipse, Hyperbola
Calculus (Class 11)Limits, Continuity, Differentiability
Statistics and Probability (Class 11)Mean, Variance, Standard Deviation, Basic Probability

Mathematics: Class 12 Topics

UnitChapters
Algebra (Class 12)Matrices, Determinants
Calculus (Class 12)Differentiation (advanced), Applications of Derivatives, Indefinite Integration, Definite Integration, Differential Equations
Coordinate Geometry (Class 12)Three Dimensional Geometry
VectorsVector Algebra, Dot Product, Cross Product
Probability (Class 12)Conditional Probability, Bayes' Theorem, Binomial Distribution

Mathematics Chapter Weightage (Expected)

UnitExpected Weightage
Calculus (Limits, Differentiation, Integration, Differential Equations)30 to 35%
Algebra (Complex Numbers, Matrices, Permutations, Sequences, Binomial)20 to 25%
Coordinate Geometry (2D and 3D)15 to 20%
Trigonometry8 to 10%
Vectors8 to 10%
Probability and Statistics5 to 8%

Calculus alone makes up nearly one-third of the Mathematics paper. Students who are weak in Integration and Differential Equations consistently lose 30 to 40 marks in Mathematics, which can cost 5 to 8 percentile points.

Topics Deleted from JEE Main Syllabus (Since 2023 Revision)

The JEE Main syllabus was significantly reduced in 2023 when NTA aligned it with the updated NCERT curriculum. The 2027 syllabus is expected to follow the same reduced format.

Do not waste time on these deleted topics. They will not appear in JEE Main 2027.

SubjectDeleted Topics
PhysicsCommunication Systems (full chapter removed)
PhysicsSemiconductor Electronics (reduced to basic diodes and transistors only)
ChemistryEnvironmental Chemistry (minimal scope, mostly removed)
ChemistrySome Organic named reactions (reduced list from pre-2023)
MathematicsMathematical Reasoning (full chapter removed)
MathematicsParts of Statistics (simplified, reduced scope)

Do not waste time studying removed topics. Use the official NTA syllabus document released with the notification as your checklist. Studying deleted chapters wastes time that should go to high-weightage topics

Conclusion

The JEE Main 2027 syllabus covers approximately 90 chapters across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Not all chapters carry equal weight. About 15 to 20 high-priority chapters contribute to 60% of the paper. If you complete all high-priority topics thoroughly, you cover 70 to 75% of the paper.

Start with the high-weightage chapters, use NCERT as your base, and build chapter-wise from the topic lists above. The official NTA syllabus PDF will be released in October 2026. Until then, this guide and the JEE Main 2026 syllabus are your most accurate reference.
